What oil tubing does in the well
Oil tubing is specified by outside diameter, weight, grade and end finish together. State the expected pulling frequency in the enquiry, together with the coupling finish the specification requires.
The company's tubing family lists seven catalogue entries named by size: 1.05, 1.315, 1.66, 2.063, 2-3/8, 2-7/8 and 3-1/2 in. Coupling stock sizes published by the company extend the picture to 1.9, 4 and 4-1/2 in as well, which is useful when an accessory order has to match an existing string. If your size is not in the named list, send it anyway with grade and end finish, and ask whether it can be supplied from the threading programme.
EUE and NUE end finishes
| End finish | Meaning |
|---|---|
| EUE | External upset end — thicker wall at the threaded end |
| NUE / NU | Non-upset end — plain wall threaded directly |
| SCC | Special clearance coupling combination |
Choosing between EUE and NUE is a decision the design takes on the string's loads and clearances. EUE names the external upset end — the upset (thickened) end form in the published thread-type list; NUE names the non-upset end, whose coupling is the smaller-OD form. Whichever finish you choose, order tubing and couplings against the same written specification — mixing an EUE pin with a coupling threaded for a different form is an avoidable error in accessory orders.
Grades and corrosive service
The published grade list used across this site names J55, K55, N80, L80 and P110; which grade a section takes is set by the design, and any hardness limit from your specification is stated in the enquiry. For wells producing wet CO2, the catalogue's 13Cr series includes L80-13Cr tubing in 2-3/8, 2-7/8, 3-1/2 and 4-1/2 in in its published size list — see the 13Cr corrosion-resistant page before you default to a carbon grade and a corrosion allowance. Grade, end finish and quantity together determine the quotation; tubing is priced per specification, not from a generic list.
Ordering tubing with its accessories
Write a complete tubing enquiry with three accessory lines: couplings in the stocked sizes, tubing pup joints for spacing out the string, and crossovers where the string changes size or thread form. Send the full string list in one RFQ; the quotation answers line by line, confirming which lines can be accepted, with MOQ, packing and lead time stated per line.
Which tubing sizes are named in the catalogue?
Seven sizes are named as catalogue entries: 1.05, 1.315, 1.66, 2.063, 2-3/8, 2-7/8 and 3-1/2 in. Coupling stock sizes additionally include 1.9, 4 and 4-1/2 in.
Can tubing be supplied in 13Cr?
The 13Cr series lists L80-13Cr tubing in 2-3/8 in through 4-1/2 in sizes. Confirm grade and size together in the enquiry so availability is checked against the corrosion-resistant programme, not the carbon-steel programme.
Do you sell tubing without couplings?
Whether tubing is quoted threaded and coupled, or as plain-end and threaded-only, is a specification question: state the condition you need in the enquiry, and the quotation states in writing what it prices; no supply condition follows from this page alone.
Request a Quotation
Send your size, grade, thread and quantity. MOQ, packing and lead time are confirmed in the quotation for your exact specification — no generic promise replaces a written quote.
