What makes a connection premium
A premium connection is a proprietary-style threaded connection from the catalogue's premium thread processing family — the gas-tight family, distinct from the API round and buttress forms, whose sealing lives in thread interference and dope alone. What seals a given premium pattern, and the duty it carries, are defined by that pattern's own design and documentation; this site publishes no per-pattern seal description, so the pattern documentation is requested with the enquiry and its scope confirmed in the quotation.
The catalogue's premium thread processing family has five entries, and their titles name real patterns: BGT2 premium connection crossover thread processing, TPJC premium connection circulating joint and hanger processing, BGT3 premium connection tubing crossover, a CS direct-connection premium circulating joint for casing, and a TPJC premium connection casing entry. Two facts follow from that list. First, premium work here includes processing and conversion pieces — crossovers and circulating joints — not only full pipe threading. Second, pattern names matter: name the pattern in the enquiry, together with the workpiece — the five entries are stated by pattern and workpiece, and the same pattern name can sit on different workpieces.
The premium family in the catalogue
The catalogue's part in any premium specification is the five processing entries above and the machining behind them. The design's per-section statement names the connection each interval carries; where that statement names a premium pattern, the enquiry repeats the pattern name exactly, and the quotation confirms the named pattern's documented scope for the stated size and grade. One reason designs state connection choices with care is that thread leakage in gas service is a safety and environmental failure, not a nuisance — the consequence belongs to the well; the pattern named against it belongs to the design.
Company material reproduced on third-party platforms beyond the core catalogue describes special sealing thread processing including straight, wedge, double-shoulder and variable-pitch forms, and premium coupling output as a speciality; those wider claims come from third-party reproductions of company text rather than the core catalogue, so they are treated on this site as a conversation to have in the enquiry, not as a published guarantee. State your pattern and duty in the enquiry, and ask for what can be machined, gauged and documented to be confirmed for it in the written quotation.
Ordering premium processing
Send four things: the pattern name exactly as it appears on your string tally, the pipe size and grade, whether the work is threading of full joints, a crossover or a circulating joint, and the quantity. If the pattern is licensed or supplied under an agreement, say so at enquiry stage. Thread protectors and handling requirements for premium joints belong in the order: state the protection and packing arrangement your tally needs in the enquiry, and the quotation will confirm whether it can be accepted and in what scope.
Premium and API sections can be combined in one well: each section carries the connection its design statement names — a premium pattern where the design names one, an API form where the design names one. Keep the two connection families as separate RFQ lines with separate tallies, and use the crossovers page if a premium section must join an API section — that junction is a crossover, specified end by end.
Premium connection or premium thread — same thing?
The connection is the complete joint; the thread is one element of it, alongside the pattern's sealing design.
Can you process my existing pipe with a premium thread?
The published entries do not state that customer-supplied pipe is accepted, so acceptance is not assumed. State pipe size, grade, current end condition and pattern in the enquiry, and ask whether the work can be accepted — and what end preparation it requires — to be confirmed in the written quotation.
Are BGT and TPJC the only patterns?
They are the patterns named in the current catalogue entries, together with the CS direct-connection type. If your tally names a different pattern, send it with the enquiry rather than leaving it to assumption.
Request a Quotation
Send your size, grade, thread and quantity. MOQ, packing and lead time are confirmed in the quotation for your exact specification — no generic promise replaces a written quote.
