Gas service, interval by interval
The catalogue lists the API round and buttress forms — STC, LTC and BTC — and lists premium thread processing as a separate family with named patterns: the family the catalogue itself describes as its gas-tight thread work, and which its platform literature describes as a core line. Which connection an interval carries is stated in the well design, interval by interval; what a named pattern seals is confirmed against that pattern's own documentation in the quotation.
For a gas well, production casing and tubing are specified interval by interval in the design, in grades from the published list chosen for the load cases. Pup joints and crossovers inside an interval carry the same connection the design names for that interval — the enquiry states the named connection for every sub in the interval, so each one is quoted against the connection the design sets for the string. The named processing entries in the catalogue include BGT, TPJC and CS; the pattern your design names for an interval, and the two ends a conversion must carry, are stated in the enquiry; the quotation confirms the named pattern can be machined for that workpiece — it does not select a pattern for a duty.
Intervals and connection families, stated separately
Two lists belong on this page, and they are stated separately because the catalogue does not map one onto the other. The first list names the intervals of a gas programme; the connection for each interval is the one the design names for it, as the paragraphs above state. The second list names the connection families in the catalogue. No interval below is assigned a family by this page.
| Interval | What the interval is |
|---|---|
| Surface and conductor sections | The shallow sections of the programme |
| Intermediate casing | The intermediate sections of the programme |
| Production casing | The string that reaches the reservoir |
| Production tubing | The production conduit inside the final casing |
| Subs and crossovers in an interval | Machined to the connection the design names for the interval they sit in |
| Connection family | Forms and patterns in the catalogue |
|---|---|
| API thread forms | STC, LTC and BTC — the round and buttress forms |
| Premium thread processing | The named patterns of the processing family, including BGT2, BGT3 and TPJC patterns and the CS direct-connection type |
For grade questions in corrosive gas, including wet CO2, the design names the grade for the interval from the published list, the chromium designations L80-3Cr, 9Cr, 13Cr, P110-13Cr and 28Cr among them, together with the connection it names for that interval.
Enquiring for a gas well programme
Mark the enquiry as gas service and name the connection the design sets for each interval, and ask for each interval's connection to be priced as designed in the quotation. Ask for MOQ, packing and lead time to be confirmed in the quotation for the specification the enquiry states.
Is BTC gas-tight?
No sealing rating for BTC is published here. The catalogue lists BTC among the API thread forms, and lists premium thread processing separately as its gas-tight thread family; a named pattern's sealing performance is confirmed against that pattern's own documentation in the quotation. The product-side comparison is on the BTC versus premium page.
Do all strings in a gas well need premium connections?
No — the design names the connection per interval, an API thread form or a premium pattern, and each interval is quoted as the design states it.
Can existing API-threaded stock be converted?
The catalogue lists conversion entries (BGT2, BGT3), but the entries do not state which thread forms sit at each end of a conversion, nor that a conversion qualifies a joint for gas duty. Raise the specific conversion in the enquiry with sizes and patterns; the quotation confirms what can be machined.
Request a Quotation
Send your size, grade, thread and quantity. MOQ, packing and lead time are confirmed in the quotation for your exact specification — no generic promise replaces a written quote.
