The catalogue sizes

The factory's tubing family names its products by size — seven entries that together define the standard tubing envelope. They are listed below exactly as published. Casing sizes are a separate list, on the casing pipe sizes page, because tubing and casing sizes use the same inch language for different strings.

The 13Cr tubing sizes

The corrosion-resistant series publishes its own tubing size list: L80-13Cr tubing in 2-3/8, 2-7/8, 3-1/2 and 4-1/2 in. Note the 4-1/2 in entry — larger than the carbon catalogue's largest named tubing size — which is why 13Cr sizes are always checked on the 13Cr page rather than assumed from the carbon list. Coupling stock sizes complete the picture: the published coupling stock list (1.315, 1.66, 1.9, 2-3/8, 2-7/8, 3-1/2, 4 and 4-1/2 in) overlaps this page's tubing list on five sizes — 1.315, 1.66, 2-3/8, 2-7/8 and 3-1/2 in — and adds 1.9, 4 and 4-1/2 in. Two catalogue tubing sizes, 1.05 and 2.063 in, do not appear in the coupling stock list: raise couplings for those sizes in the enquiry as their own lines, and assume no stock position for them.

Completing the size line

Size alone does not specify tubing: weight, grade and end finish complete the line, and the same size in EUE and NUE is two different products at the coupling. When a size you need is absent from both lists — a legacy size for a workover string, for instance — send it with the full line specification. Ask for MOQ, packing and lead time for the specification to be confirmed in the quotation.

When a workover or replacement programme inherits a string from another supplier, the size list is the Rosetta stone.

Is 4-1/2 in tubing available?

It appears in the 13Cr tubing size list and in the coupling stock list. In carbon grades it is a confirmation item — state size, grade and finish in the enquiry.

Which sizes have named coupling stock behind them?

Five of this page's seven sizes appear in the published coupling stock list: 1.315, 1.66, 2-3/8, 2-7/8 and 3-1/2 in — and 2-7/8 in additionally has a named N80/L80 EUE stock entry. The 1.05 and 2.063 in sizes are not in the coupling stock list; couplings for them are raised in the enquiry. Named stock does not mean automatically in stock in every grade — ask for the stock position for your grade to be confirmed in the quotation.

Where are weights and wall thicknesses listed?

Weight or wall is specified per order line against API 5CT practice for the size. Send the weight your design states; any mismatch with the size's standard offerings is a point to raise in the enquiry, for the quotation to confirm the line as stated.

Request a Quotation

Send your size, grade, thread and quantity. MOQ, packing and lead time are confirmed in the quotation for your exact specification — no generic promise replaces a written quote.

Documents: if your tender needs certificates, inspection records or a stated PSL level, note it in the message — documents are quoted with the order, not added afterwards.
