A catalogue category of its own
Premium thread processing is one of the seven live families in the factory's catalogue, with five entries of its own. The machining work is executed to order on the patterns the catalogue names — threading, conversion and joint work. The entries themselves do not state acceptance terms: raise a given workpiece — pipe, blank, crossover, circulation joint or hanger — in the enquiry, and ask for its acceptance for processing to be confirmed in the written quotation.
The patterns the catalogue names
| # | Catalogue entry (as published) | Workpiece the entry names |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | BGT2 premium-thread crossover thread processing | Crossover joints (conversion pieces), as the entry is titled |
| 2 | TPJC premium-thread circulation joint and hanger processing | Circulation joints and hangers, as the entry is titled |
| 3 | BGT3 premium-thread tubing crossover | Tubing crossovers, as the entry is titled |
| 4 | Casing CS premium direct-connection circulation joint | Casing circulation joint in direct-connection form, as the entry is titled |
| 5 | Premium-thread TPJC premium casing | Casing, as the entry is titled |
These pattern names are the factory's own catalogue designations for its gas-tight thread work, published in its product list and in its platform main-products statement, which describes processing and development of various premium gas-tight thread oil tools and accessories as a core line. Send the pattern name and the component drawing with a processing enquiry: state the size and grade of the workpiece in the enquiry, and ask for the gauging and inspection basis to be confirmed for the line in the quotation. Where a pattern must match an existing string already in your fleet, say so in the first message, and ask for thread compatibility with the named installed base to be confirmed in the quotation.
The five entries, one by one
1 — BGT2 crossover thread processing
The workpiece is a crossover (conversion) joint. The entry's title does not state which thread forms sit at each end, so name in the enquiry, for the component, the BGT2 pattern and both end specifications in full, by component drawing or thread data sheet where you have one. Ask for the machining of the pattern on that workpiece, and the inspection basis and batch terms for it, to be confirmed in the quotation.
2 — TPJC circulation joint and hanger processing
The workpieces are circulation joints and hangers. Name in the enquiry the TPJC pattern, the size and grade of each component, and the string the component must match — by component drawing or data sheet where you have one. Ask for the machining on that component, and the gauging and inspection basis for it, to be confirmed in the quotation.
3 — BGT3 tubing crossover
The workpiece is a tubing crossover. As with the BGT2 entry, name both ends in the enquiry — the BGT3 pattern and each end's form, by drawing or data sheet where you have one — because a crossover is defined by its two ends. Ask for the pattern's machining on that workpiece to be confirmed in the quotation, and state the quantity the quotation is to price.
4 — CS direct-connection casing circulation joint
The workpiece is a casing circulation joint in direct-connection (integral) form. Name in the enquiry the CS type, the casing size and grade, and the connection the joint must make with the string — by drawing or data sheet where you have one. Ask for the direct-connection work for that casing specification, and the inspection basis for it, to be confirmed in the quotation.
5 — TPJC premium casing
The workpiece is casing — full joints rather than a separate component. Name in the enquiry the casing specification (size, weight, grade) with the TPJC pattern named, plus the thread data sheet where one exists. The quotation confirms the pattern can be machined on that casing line and states documentation and batch terms for the line.
Read across the five entries, they divide by workpiece rather than by pattern family alone: two are crossover entries (BGT2, BGT3), one covers circulation joints and hangers (TPJC), one is a casing direct-connection circulation joint (CS) and one is TPJC on casing. An enquiry names the entry it means — not just the pattern — because the same pattern name can sit on different workpieces.
How a processing order runs
Send the component type (casing or tubing end, crossover, circulation joint, hanger), size, grade, pattern, quantity and the drawing or thread data sheet if one exists, and ask for the machining of the pattern on that workpiece, and the inspection and documentation basis for the line, to be confirmed in the quotation. Buyers comparing this service against simply ordering finished premium pipe should read the BTC versus premium comparison and the blog's premium versus API guide before deciding. Processing lead times are not estimated on this page: ask for the lead time to be confirmed in the quotation for the line.
What should an enquiry for premium thread processing state?
The entry by its catalogue name — BGT2, BGT3, TPJC or CS — the workpiece the entry names, the size and grade of the workpiece, and the quantity the quotation is to price. Add the component drawing or thread data sheet where you have one.
Can you process a pattern not listed here?
The catalogue names BGT2, BGT3, TPJC and CS. Other premium patterns are a confirmation item: name the pattern and supply its data sheet with the enquiry, and ask for its machinability to be confirmed in the quotation.
Do you take processing work on pipe we supply?
The published entries do not state that customer-supplied pipe is accepted, so acceptance is not assumed. Conversion and crossover entries exist in the catalogue; raise the workpiece in the first enquiry, with sizes and quantities, and ask for its acceptance to be confirmed in the written quotation.
Request a Quotation
Send your size, grade, thread and quantity. MOQ, packing and lead time are confirmed in the quotation for your exact specification — no generic promise replaces a written quote.
